Port Operation Supervisor

What you'll be doing?
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the port operations team, including loading, unloading, and cargo handling
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Monitor and optimize port equipment and infrastructure utilization to maximize productivity
Liaise with external stakeholders, such as shipping agents and government authorities, to facilitate seamless operations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs
Provide training and mentorship to the port operations team to develop their skills and capabilities
Prepare detailed reports and performance metrics to inform management decision-making

What we're looking for?
Minimum Diploma degree related to maritime studies (ANT III)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a port or terminal operations supervisory role, preferably in the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industry
Strong understanding of port operations, including cargo handling, storage, and logistics
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in relevant software and technology tools used in port operations
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on safety and productivity
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Familiarity with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (maritime laws, port regulations)
