MARKET DEVELOPMENT AGRONOMIST (NORTH SUMATERA)

Position Purpose:
The Market Development Agronomist is jointly responsible with the Area Sales Manager to achieve or exceed the established regional and territory sales targets by enabling the sales team success by utilizing their agronomic expertise to advance and position the full Bayer portfolio of seed, GM traits, crop protection, biologics and application technology for tailored solutions with customers.

Management of large-scale field trial testing program generating commercial seed and crop protection data used to support product positioning and technical knowledge transfer.

The Market Development agronomist will also provide technical support and training with strategic retail partners, Bayer Area Sales managers and Sales Representatives to enable selling with confidence.

The Market Development Agronomist is expected to represent Bayer in a professional manner, championing corporate policies with respect to safety, business conduct, respect in the workplace and compliance in the performance of their duties and activities.

Major tasks and responsibilities of position:
– Execute field scale testing programs
– Technical support and training for strategic retail partners and Bayer sales team
– Provide technical information with seed, trait and chemistry products
– Sales and business support
– Support crop protection management strategy and other stewardship initiatives for seed, trait and crop protection products
– Build profile as technical expert in territory
– Compliant with Bayer safety, driving policies and manage summer students

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
BSc Degree (S1) or equivalent in Agriculture or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:
– Up to 2 years of Agronomy, field development or R&D related experience
– Seed testing experience is preffered

PERSONALITY/SKILLS:
– Poses solid agronomy technical knowledge and strong analytical skills
– Good working knowledge of Crop Protection Industry and/or Seed Business
– Advanced skills on computer, database and data analysis tools
– Excellent inter personal relationship and team skills
– Excellent organization and time management with result orientation
– Good written, verbal, and presentation skill set
– Proactive and strong problem-solving capability through analytical thinking and judgments in complex situations with little guidance
